Topkapı Palace is one of the main attractions of Istanbul and one of the most famous museums in the world. It was built in 1479 by order of Sultan Mehmet II on the coast of the Sea of Marmara and for 400 years, until the middle of the 19th century, the palace was the main residence of the Turkish Padishahs. Armory, harem, treasury, library, collection of ancient manuscripts and many pavilions are part of the palace complex.
The Church of St. Irene is one of the oldest temples in Constantinople. Under Emperor Constantine, the church was the main temple of the city before the construction of Hagia Sophia.
The church is located in the first courtyard of Topkapi Palace.
After the arrival of the Ottoman Empire in 1453, the church was not converted into a mosque, thus preserving most of the original architectural elements and keeping its uniqueness.
A boat trip along the Bosphorus Strait is one of the most exciting boat trips at any time of the year.
On the picturesque shores of both continents there are ancient fortresses, palaces, summer residences of sultans, mansions, private villas and parks. You will sail past:
Ÿ The Maiden's Tower, around which there are many legends;
Ÿ Under the famous one and a half kilometer long Bosphorus Suspension Bridge, which connects the two continents of Europe and Asia;
Ÿ Along the Rumelihisar Fortress, located in the European part of Istanbul.
Istanbul. The fortress was built in 1452 in a record time of 4.5 months and served as a protective helmet at the gateway to the Bosphorus Strait. Also during the boat trip you will sail past the luxurious Dolmabahce Palace of the Sultans, built in the 19th century.
At the end of the excursion there is an optional trip to the shopping center.
