Dolmabahce Palace: Built by order of Sultan Abdulmecid I, the palace was constructed over an impressive 11-year period without sparing any expense. This unique structure, designed in the spirit of European luxury in the Baroque style, was created to rival its Western counterparts in prestige and status, fulfilling Sultan Abdulmecid I's vision. The palace, covering an area of 45,000 square meters, contains 285 rooms, 46 halls, 6 Turkish baths, and 68 bathrooms. The luxurious decor of the palace, including carpets, chandeliers, furniture, and paintings, was gifted by rulers of neighboring friendly states. A total of approximately 40 tons of silver and 14 tons of gold were used in the decoration of the palace.
Suleymaniye Mosque: A masterpiece by the great architect Sinan and the largest mosque in Istanbul today. It was built in 1557 during the reign of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. The mosque's dome, with a diameter of 26.5 meters, can accommodate around 5000 worshippers. The mosque complex also includes a library, madrasa, baths, kitchens, and even an observatory. In the courtyard, Sultan Suleyman and his beloved wife Hurrem Sultan rest in two adjacent mausoleums.
